Petts Wood Bowling Club (PWBC) was founded in 1934 and is located in the Willett Recreation Ground, Crossway, Petts Wood, BR5 1PE.

With a membership of 100, PWBC is an inclusive friendly and successful club that provides sporting and social activities for a cross-section of people from their teens to their 90’s. Our club provides support and friendship and actively encourages both people new to the sport as well as experienced bowlers. People new to the game will be given taster sessions by our qualified coaches so that they can decide whether they want to take up the game. Follow-up coaching will be provided if they are still interested.

The bowls season runs from the end of April to the beginning of October. The club is open Monday – Friday afternoons, two mornings in the week, and all day at weekends. Members can just turn up at 2.00pm for roll-ups on certain days and be sure to get a game. We have a combined total of over 100 friendly Ladies, Men’s and Mixed matches against clubs in Bromley and neighbouring boroughs throughout the season, normally on Tuesday, Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday afternoons. We also have day trips each year to play against clubs at Eastbourne, New Romney and Whitstable.

PWBC runs its own internal competitions with a Finals Weekend in early September. We also have Ladies and Men’s teams made up of our more experienced and skilled bowlers playing in the North West Kent Bowls Leagues as well as some members taking part in Kent County and National competitions.

The club’s website is http://www.pettswoodbowlingclub.org.uk and there is a contact form there where queries can be made and the club will reply.

Angela Snowden (PWBC Secretary)
